toadstool leather coral

iv'e had my toadstool for about a week now and he was opening and closing nicely now hes all closed up,there's some black around the bottom of the stem and some mucus coming from the top is this shedding or dying? iv'e got some nice flow on him and gently pushed the top to see how firm he is and it bounced back ok.

ok cool. wasn't going to bother with coral just have a FOWLR but just LR doesn't look nice. love to have a anemone but i don't think i'm there yet.

It might be shedding, but black around the base is not good. I want to say Necrosis, but I'm not sure if that's correct or not. You might want to look into it.

ok. i did read that black wasn't good its normally yellow-brown when shedding but i didn't know if anyone has had this before as this is my first coral

well necrosis is latin for death of tissue so i'm guessing thats not good
