This is all rather amusing in a sad sort of way. Every time I get on here it's some more bickering and politics. I find it amusing that Bill had set up the Coralife salt at the critter to start with and then now we get the "news" that there is a "Coralife salt buy at the critter" with all details on the MTRC website. It's not news, he put all the details in his own threads and left it open for people to join in. I'll just go ahead and buy the 300 gallon box of salt and do my own deal, since nobody feels it necessary to put the details here.

Hard to believe people scratch their heads at the dismal turnout and lack of membership and support this year. I certainly hope things turn around soon otherwise I see no reason to even visit the forum as it's all the same BS every time I get on here. It's old.

Also, has anybody researched what penalty there is to remove the money from the CD and make it available for use? How much cash is there on hand, and how much is in the CD? That way we can see as a club what resources we have so we can all make informed decisions as to what equipment can be purchased and what we can even realistically expect for events for the entire year if there is very little cash available.

I agree it is amusing, everyone bashed the old BOD & now 2 weeks in & 24 hours after the first meeting alot of the same folks are already bashing the new BOD. If I was thinking of joining & had been lurking I def have 2nd thoughts. This thread was supposed to be upbeat & positive & just a thank you for coming but its def taken a diff direction.

Id like to comment on a few items you brought up. You are 100% correct Bill did get the critter to get coralife. Thanks Bill. However if you would bother to read the MTRC.org site where the group buy is posted you will see that the group buy price is about 20.00 a 300 gal box cheaper than the prices Bill posted but feel free to do your own deal, thats your call.

As to why it is posted there & not here. Its posted in a section for PAID CLUB MEMBERS, everyone wants to know whats a perk for being a paid member where there you go. Theres 1 extra perk. MTRC here on Reefcentral is open to everyone whether they are a paid member or not. Also you will see more info in the future posted on the club site, why you ask? Well it would be nice to have some really nice major club sponsers, but guess what alot of them want to tied into our club site. It needs to have some traffic on it so it looks atleast a little busy. What major sponsor is going to want to really help a club out if they dont have any traffic on there own forum? Not to many.

As far as the penalty for the CD. I honestly dont know at this current point.
Yesterday was the first I have heard about the amounts & you were sitting right there when it was told. I do know that from my own EXP with CDS that Ive had the penalty is pretty steep & its normally not worth the penalty for cashing them early (normally anywhere between 23 & 37% depending on the type of cd). I thought Justin had said there was around 1500 cash in a account but I honestly dont remeber because I couldnt hear really well over the music. All new memberships as they come in will go into the account as well but who would really want to join if all they see is a bunch of Azzhats arguing amongst themselves.

This is supposed to be fun, If there was this much disappointment yesterday something should have been said then. Everyone seemed to get along & hang around & chat amongst 1 another like everything was peachy king. Then when we all ran into each other at the critter everyone still went back to happy chit chat & there was no sign of any discontent. Yet once everyone gets back behind the keyboard everything changes. All I have to say is I call BS.
If this club is gonna even remotly have a chance we got to work together, if not were doomed to fail. Its up to you to make it what you want it.

I hold no grudges, but if everyones gonna speak there mind dont expect not to do the same.

An actually the CD was told to everyone that was at the meeting last month. This has never been a secreat but if a member wants to know about the club they can ask at a meeting, or talk about it on a members only section of the clubs web sit.

Wayne, First off I made no mention of any CD, Second I did not know the club was a business for making money, third the support not being there was made at the meeting by all as far as I remember!
As far as starting a bunch of crap, If the problems can not even be discussed without BS like this there will be no solutions and just more of the same!
What I found Amazing Is all the crap that's done and members are not even told anything about It.
I got a real good solution to all this though there will be one less member as of tonight, And you can take my dues and put It where the sun don't shine

As far as the finances are concerned i will make it a point to get a balance of the account when i get to the bank this week and post in the club site forum. I will also see what the penalty is for cashing it out early. I will say that Norman was helpful in getting me all the stuff to run this part of the board and Wayne did say he had a lot of stuff to pass along to the new board. Guys please just give us a little time to transition here. It is hard to turn a ship around at full speed. We want this club to grow as much as anyone here it benefits us all to do so. please pm if there is anything that you would like to discuss and we can discuss.

My goodness what drama, lol. Must admit I laughed and frowned at a few things posted. First off from my position on the board I didnt know there was anything else I should have given Mike besides the par meter and suction cups. (Which he will be getting soon) I never took notes at any meeting and didnt know I was suppose to. If I slipped on this one I apologize. Mike I will help you anyway I can. Like I said earlier if each person does what they are suppose to things will be fine. President be President, IT be IT, PR be PR, and so forth. All of us are different and we see things different. We act differently and come across differently. An opinion is one thing trying to influence things are different. All of this is going to work out and we are all grown adults. I will also say reading this thread is pretty depressing and I feel sorry for the new people who are coming on board.(Just seeing the things that are being said as a whole) Trust me when I saw there is plenty of knowledge and good people in this club.

Bill do you really mean it this time you are not going to be in the club?

Rhett Notes were not taken and published as long as I have been in the club. There has been more posted on the net about all the dealings now then before. I think no matter what you do someone will want to complain. It is not a bad Idea though that they take notes for the BOD meetings and publish them on the members only area.

As far as the actions of the last BOD if anyone wants to blame anyone for its failures Blame me as I was the president and was responsible for what should have been done. If you want to PM me and tell me how I am a SOB and was hiding things go a head. But if you do not give the new BOD a chance to get organized and come up with a plan on what the club wants and needs then you may need to go a head and take your marbles home and not play the the others. I would even suggest the BOD refund your money back.

Also yes we use some of it to prepay for things for the swap but the swap is what makes the money in the club. That is why we did a 9 mth one. Here Is what you accused me of saying, Not close to what I actually said!!! And how about the fact that You never even take part In the board unless It's to argue with me about anything I say to Improve the club. I personally am sick of your sh$t and want no part of what you Think Is your club.
