Hello all,
I finally have ventured into a new reef project after being out of the hobby for the past six years. I moved from Chicagoland area and now am living in the panhandle of Florida. I've been renting my house for the past give plus years and finally have begun construction on my own place. Moving back to Florida has had some design challenges as it comes to plumbing, as my last tank was completely plumbed through the crawl space to garage for remote saltwater mixing and water changes. So I planned plumbing in the slab and a remote pump/room. Here are some progress pics. The slab has 3-1" and 1-2" PVC (40). Also floor drain, fw, footer conduits for eventual geothermal loop. I plan on lining the fish room in 3/4" plywood under green board so I am able to hang equipment in any location desired. The pump will be. Variable speed saltwater pool pump

So sweet! I'm so jelly! I'm doing the same thing looks like im about 2 months behind you, drooling to get to where your at, just finishing the plans. Would love some info on who you are getting the tank from and why you chose them? Congrats on the build !

I actually haven't decided on a tank builder. I am undecided on also going glass (sapphire) or with acrylic. Factors being that I would love to have a rimless that large and I also have a 4 year old and newborn boys. So I know things will get thrown! If I had my choice I would have a thick sided glass tank w acrylic bottom if possible so it could be drilled at any location. Unsure of what the best builders are these days as I have been out of the hobby for 5 plus years. Any suggestions?

I looked into a ton of different places. Most ship to ports and big hubs you have to pick up. The best place I found which was the most expensive but had 0 tank issues reported and 0 instances of having to replace a tank for any reason. Looked all over couldn't find anything bad about them. Was Coast to Coast. I am doing Eurobraced 96x36x28 3/4 front and side starfire and the price was $7,763. But they do sales all the time which when I did was 25% off which came to $5822.00. They seem pretty stoked on doing the work, and with home delivery and 0 complaints i'm paying the extra. Plus every review says they are a work of art in person. Again havn't ordered it yet waiting on house to be closer to finished. Good luck, look around try to find somewhere else possibly better and let me know!
