Tomatoe/Ocellaris breeding!

A buddy of mine was suffering heavy casualties while the lights were out. He went to 24 hour lighting until after metamorphasis and did much better.

I can't wait to see this cross.

Re Larval Snagger: I used a 2.5 gallon tank from petsmart and it worked real well. Also used a Mini-Jet 404 as the pump inside the coffee filter/coke bottle.
Here are some pix to help visualize it while looking at the book

Look just to the bottom left of the small tank. There is a 2 watt lamp attached just below where the U-Tube stops in the parent tank. I have that on an X-10 device so I can control the brightness of the bulb and keep it about 1/2 power.

My maroons hatch 45 mins after lights out on day 7. Yours will be different.

One thing I do is kill the pumps and everything as soon as the lights go out on hatch night. On my non-commercial website there is a video of hatch night shot using a small flashlight on top of the tank. http://www.reefobsession.com it might be worth looking at to get a feel for what you should be seeing.

Oh ok i turned all the pumps off as well and left the tank in darkness for almost 2 hours. I then put a small nightlight up by the corner of the tank and was able to get 19 fry out. I have no idea where the rest went. Ill definitely check the video out :)

Still have the 8 fry left. Started them on BBS today but still am ading rots to the tank as well. I also took the paper off the tank so i can actually see them. Unfortunately they still dont show up in pictures :(

Your welcome :) I hope they make it too! Im real curious to see what there going to look like!
Chris

Np pics as my camera isnt good enough to get a real closeup! Other than that i still have 8 happy babies swimming all around :) Thanks for asking!
