Toms 200g + system build

Water is running through the entire system, lights are hung. Need to hang fuge light, transfer live rock and fish from the current tank and deal with the mass of wires. Photos forthcoming.

First Corals going in tomorrow. Little bit of a diatom bloom I had on the new rock is pretty much gone. Got some mangroves coming for the fuge and got my apex DOS set up for awc. Then it's time to start thinking about additional fish.

Things are coming along nicely. Slowly organizing the fish room to my satisfaction. Seem to have my calc rx dialed in now and am maintaining a steady 9dkh and 410 calc. Wish id had one of these things on my previous tanks. Very stable.

Also got my apex DOS set up for AWC. This thing is well worth the money. Very easy to set up. Right now i have it changing 10g a week (mon thru fri). That gives me the weekends to mix up the following weeks saltwater.

My skimmer has broken in nicely also. Getting a nice dark skimate and no more wild fluctuations in production.

Added a bunch of frags and have more on the way this week. I finally invested in a PAR meter which will be arriving tomorrow. Iv always tinkered to much with my light setting so want to get a real good idea of the numbers im getting throughout the tank so i can plan out future coral placements etc.

My next plan (within the next two months or so) is to get a customer acrylic frag tank built for the fish room. Because of the size of the room i dont want to over crowd it so ill be looking for something sized around 30*18*8. Havent decided if im going to plumb this separate yet or tie into the existing system. I made sure to leave myself several extra outputs from my manifold so i have the easy option of either.

Just got back from the first week of vacation with the new tank. Happy to say that I came home to no problems other than a little hairy algae. All part of the new tank process.

Starting to see some growth and improvement in color to the frags I put in.

In other news I just ordered a custom frag tank which I'll be plumbing in to the main system. The tank will be 30*18*10. Made of acrylic. It will be a few weeks before I get it but I'll start work on the stand. I'll be lighting it with another hydra so as to keep things consistent with the display.
