Tong's tropical fish Sale

Was at Tong's today and found out that they are going to have a sale this Saturday and Sunday. I believe it's 30% off all livestock 25% off dry goods and tanks, lights, skimmers, etc. will be individually maked down. Just wanted you guys to know

You got to pay to play Gabe! Really though which LFS consistantly has a better selection of livestock than Tong's?

Do i go to tong's? When I'm in the area.

Do I buy from Tong's? Not anymore.

Why? Because if you don't kill anything you don't need to buy!

It sucks having a full tank! Maybe I'll unplug the chiller to trigger an RTN event so I can buy again.

Except for the Nordstroms pricing I think Tongs is great shop to visit. I usually go there to check out the three huge SPS tanks in the back and of course its the only store that has the most variety of fish. The health of the fish is a hit and miss.

It seems that Tong's has actually lowered a lot of their prices on fish, either that or the competition has raised them. I went to reefcollection not long ago and many items literally were double what Tong's was charging. I shop around a lot in OC and they've gotten better.

I don't know but this is the second time i have heard about tong's sales since i've joined this board but my suggestion is....What if we go in there a couple days before the sale and let say take picture of the price or make some kind of big impression on tong about the price and then come on the sales day and if there's a difference in price just remind him of that day and hte price of that day......?

I think tong's will jack up there price the night before the sale. I'm gonna go there on thursday or friday to check out the price and come back on saturday to see if the price has increase because of the sale

Its been mentioned on this board many times of how Tong's have this so-called "sale"

i think prices are lower because they are starting to *****-ship alot more which means quality goes down. Alot more...

When they had there big thanksgiving sale two years ago I went by on a Friday. I checked all there prices thinking how much I was going to save the next day. What I found Saturday was they increased to full retail value of each item and then took off 30% or more. Yes, you save a dollar or two but on a few items it was more.
I like going to Tongââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s because itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s a great place to go look at a products and then I go buy them somewhere else. I guess what they have going for them is you can buy everything from start to finish with a selection of items. This is all just my opinion.

I agree I go there to see what I want then go to another LFS with Realistic prices and buy it there...

You could just bring me some replacement corals from my Massive crash a couple months ago and then go shopping again. It is a WIN-WIN if you ask me.

I do think they are getting better, or maybe just some other stores are getting worse. I have taken advantage of some of there sales and did not find them changing the price on the items I purchased over te next few months. JMO

I don't shop there much anymore, but occasionally if the other stores that are closer are out of ghost shrimp.
