too late for one spot foxface?

i have an issue because my one spot foxface has taken a huge turn towards poor health. right now he is gasping for air at the top left corner of the tank by a return. he is in a 75 gal tank and my paramaters are looking better than ever.. i recently did a 15 gal water change (recently being the last couple of days) and a week before i did a 10 gallon change.

he is in there with a kole tang who is a little bigger than he is but they are about the same length, a couple of ocellaris, a diamond goby and a firefish. now, about three weeks to a month ago my power flickered off and on and my powerhead was flowing backwards. i didnt realize this until i noticed the foxface was stuck to the front of the powerhead. i was quick to free him but i dont know if this could be the cause. he has seemed fine since then eating, swimming, and his color has been amazing.. i introduced the kole tang after him tho and noticed the foxface's tail looks as if it has been nibbled at, this could be another cause perhaps?

earlier today (it is about 9:30pm now) my foxface seemed fine being his normal self but about five hours ago or so i noticed he started behaving strangely as he was sort of resting on the sand in the corner of the tank where he usually sleeps with his fins spiked up, then he moved towards the back where he was resting on a rock. i began to take notice as this wasnt his normal behavior and was different from what i was seeing just moments before. please give any advice as i feel i am going to find him dead in the morning.. it has been such a drastic turn for the worst in such a short amount of time i dont know what to make of it..

How long has the tank been up and running and how large is the foxface? I can't imagine an healthy foxface or most fish for that matter getting stuck to a powerhead so I have a feeling something wasn't quite right then. No other signs of stress?

I know when I had a foxface in my 75g once he got to a certain size (around 6 inches) I could tell he was stressing looking at both him and his tankmates as he had gotten too big (so much for liveaquaria saying 75g was big enough).

List out any other details on your equipment, bioload, etc and hopefully someone here can figure out something before its too late for him.

well i mean like i said the PH was flowing in reverse trust me the dude was healthy as far as anyone could tell. he swam all over, ate lots of food and had very bright colors.

i honestly dont know how it happened but i indeed found him dead just a few minutes ago. he was about four inches long. i think he was stressed out, probably a lot more than i could tell, from the kole tang being introduced...

LiveAquaria's Foxface recommendations are weird. The One Spot Foxface requires 70 gallons but all the others require 125? I find that a little ridiculous. Can someone with a Bio PhD back me up?
