Too many copepods?

Several days ago I noticed tiny little white things all over my glass, and have since identified them as copepods. My question is: Is it possible to have too many in ones tank? Could they cause any harm or imbalance when their numbers are too great?

Both my False Perculas, the Royal Gramma and the Spotted Kole are going to town almost non-stop eating them.

Thank you very much in advance. :)

A bloom, you're right, indicates something out of balance, but this one is self-correcting, as you don't need to feed your fish as much: they'll take care of it.
Value the little buggers---they feed on algae, and are a boon to your tank. If predated, they seem to have 'brain' enough to learn to hide, so very soon you'll see less of them, but they'll still be there. Best, even, if you set up a refugium dedicated to keeping their numbers high and their breeding area safe.

I've noticed that with a new setup there is often a surge in 'pod populationa a couple months after cycling. In my experience the amount levels out pretty quickly. For now your fish are having a great time, I've never heard of them causing any harm or imbalance.

Thank you both very much. :)

So if I manage to remove a good amount of these and place them in my fuge, would that mean I should have a "regular" amount available at all times?

If those little crawling over my glass are copepods then why did my mandrin starve? He ate frozen food. It took forever but I would look at him pass right over the pods on my back glass.

You said he accepted frozen foods, so how can you be so sure that he starved?

It took him forever to eat the frozen food. He would look at it for a few seconds and then he would eat it or by the time he ate it the other fish got to it. Also he went from being fat to an anarexic mandrin so I know he starved.
