too many urchins?

well i had 2 that i saw when i got the package. they are now about 1 1/2". last night i saw at least 4-5 more ,all tiny. must have been super tiny when i got the rock.seams like there may be too many when they get bigger? do they only eat algea? or what?

Hi Bob. I have gotten several packages from Richard and the Urchins you are referring to are simple rock urchins and are for the most part harmless to anything. Seems like they multiply like rabbits as I had as many as 10 before. I personally like the purple look of coralline Algae so I like to only keep one or two as that is what they seem to like to eat most of all.

Yup, they come in as little babies but they grow up fast!
Thomas has you covered. You can always remove them later. Sell or trade locally.
