Too much bioload in my 29g?

Have 2 clows, a pistol and a watchman goby in my 29g mixed reef. I would like to add one more fish but is it a bad idea?

Do you have an idea of what fish you would like to add? It helps us to know what size of fish you want to add-as some fish get large as adults and are not suitable for a 29 gallon.

thanks jolene

Personally, I think you would be okay with another smaller fish like a royal gramma, firefish, chalk basslet etc. Just keep an eye on the water quality.

how much live rock do you have in your tank and how are you filtering it?

29g tank w/ 10 gallon sump. Run an aquaclear 30 on DT but run tunze nano skimmer w/ carbon and phosban reactors in sump. Also have about 42 lbs of LR.

What species of Clownfish do you have? This will make a difference as some can grow quite large. For instance, if you have a pair of Maroon, Clarkii or Tomato Clownfish, I'd say you're at your bio-limit. If you have Percula, Occellaris or some of the smaller skunk species, you should be fine adding another fish. I wouldn't go with more than 1 more though.

Id say you have plenty of room for another fish(if your clowns arent any of the above mentioned that get larger), but your clowns may not like a new addition. I'd bet a six line wrasse would work if your clowns dont chase him out of the tank. I had a six line, watchman, and a pair of occelaris in my 29 and everyone got along great. i have since upgraded.
