Too much?

Hey guys and gals,

I'm a fishaholic but i'm not sure if my tank is almost maxed out. In my 75 gallon mixed reef i have a blue tang, 3 green chromis, a maroon clown, and a zebra barred dartfish. My question is, can i possibly add a wrasse or two? or will that be way to much. If so, what wrasse would you add to this tank, I would prefer one that is not best in a pair. I'm open to all suggestions please advise:)

Thanks

Zack

I'd wanna know how big your blue tang is, and what you've got for a skimmer, waste removal on the tank. (fuge, how big a sump, etc.)

My first thought would be you'd be okay to add a wrasse or two, depending on type. (my melanarus is a pretty big fish)

I currently have a blue hippo, ocellaris pair, 3 shrimp gobies, a pair of pipefish, a pair of potters leopards, a yellow coris wrasse, and a tailspot blenny in my 75. I am not running a skimmer and feed somewhat heavily due to the pipes and the leopards. The hippo tang is only 3 inches. While I am able to get away with this now, I would not recommend it. With your current list, I think that you could add two or three wrasses to the mix.

Yeah, assuming you can handle the increased bio-load... which as long as you have a decent amount of porous rock in your 75 and a sand bed... you should be fine.

Your issues here are not filtration, but territoriality. That tang is probably gonna wanna kick whatever you bring in there's ***. don't know about the dartfish's personality, but maroon clowns are territorial as well, but tend to keep to themselves IMO. I'd pick a non-aggressive species.

Go for a Mystery Wrasse, a Carpenters Flasher Wrasse, and possibly a Laboutei Fairy Wrasse. That combo should get along fine with one another and with what you already have.

Thanks for the replies everyone:)
Here is the tank specs.....a octopus extreme 200 skimmer, 150 pounds of liverock, in total (sump ((55 gallon sump)and dt), a 20 gallon fuge, and a 8" (deep) by 12" by 12" (length and width) remote deep sand bed.....i'm sure i have no filtration problems lol

Now for the tricky part, what wrasse would you add?
I want something eye catching, but i'm also not wanting to add a 150 dollar fish to my tank.

Thanks
Zack

With that Maroon in there, I'd go for a more aggressive Wrasse myself, but I'm new to the family ( Labrids) So I'm not going to advise you on this.
BTW, I have a small juvenile T. lunare. ( Yes, I want to get a bigger tank sometime not too far off! LOL)
