Top 5 most traded/circulated Zoas in the hobby?

I changed it to 10, there are so many.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on what the most circulated color morphs of zoas are. By that I mean, zoas that have been fragged and traded around but originate from a particular colony, or a few colonies. We all know radioactive dragon eyes or plain brown zoanthid are the most common, that's not what I'm talking about. Im talking about Zoas with a long lineage in the hobby. Thinking back to 2005-08 or so and what was around then and still around now this is my guess...

1.PPE
2.Tubbs Blue zoas
3.Safecrackers
4.KeddRedd
5.Goochsters
6.Rastas
7. AOG
8.PHEs (aka jokers I think, but maybe not)
9.Fruit Loops
10.Candy Apple Reds

Am I way off here, anything obvious that I'm missing?

Sunny D's are indeed popular, when were they introduced? I don't remember them being around. Are they a relatively resent addition? Or maybe I just don't remember.

In any case they belong on the list, fruit loops are kind of new too.

1. eagle eyes/wham'n watermelons
2. dragon eyes
3. radioactive dragon eyes
4. RPE
5. AOG

You can go into nearly any LFS in the country and find at the very least one of these, can't say that about sunny d's, and definitely not purple hornets nor any "designer" zoanthids.

Yea, even my Petco has WW and Radioactive dragon eyes. If your talking more among collecters then the hornets, rastas, sunny Ds, would be on there. Ive never even heard of goochsters and safecrackers. I wish I could get my hands on some CAR.

Yea I think EEs and WW correspond to common color varieties found out on some reef where people are collecting for the aquarium trade they dont correspond to the a single variety that was traded around the hobby from the original namer. That is to say that they arent all the same. Early on they were very rare and most colonies did come from an original colony but thats been overwhelmed by new imports now.

Rastas and fruitloops on the other hand maybe did all come from the same colony with no new imports??

1. whammin watermelons
2. radioactive dragon eyes
3. nuclear green palys/purple deaths
4. fire and ice
5. armor of god
6. tubbs blue

You nailed it right on the head. Every LFS in town has these. Still beautiful pieces though.

sunny d
rastas
candy apple reds

i think the above three have a good chance.

I agree, any know data for when Sunny D's showed up? I dont see it on Zoa ID, how long has that been in the hobby?

Rastas and CARs have def been around a long time

Is there a thread on the most wanted zoa and or polys? If not here is what would be on my list

Bowser
Anything jason fox
Utter chaos

I saw utter chaos on ebay for $40 PP. Rediculous!

I started getting into 'designer' zoos. I have had watermelons in my tank long before I even knew what they were lol. So I would definately say that they are on the list.

I recently picked up some fire and Ice and flaming sun polyps.

Not much of the Zoa trade going on here in Calgary. We get zoas that are named "Zoas" and we pay $60+ for a frag of relatively plain ones. Haven't found any place in Canada that sells named morphs.
