Topic: 2014 Mars Frag Grow Out Challenge(Reef Raft and Your Reef)

I got it dipped with revive and now in my frag tank. The only thing I do not like about it is that the acro was glued to a frag disk without a stem. I was hoping to zip tie the stem to a tonga rock and cut it when it has to be shown and zip tie back into place. An alternative was to get a piece of rock and drill a hole in it to accommodate the frag plug and remove it when it had to be shown. I just don't see how to secure the disk in my display without gluing it to a rock.

Anthony I'll be around on Monday if they survive. Will you have time?

Also here are my submissions for Day 1

Red People Eater ( Re-Glued after they popped off) on a standard reef plug.

As was mentioned at the party last night, Jeff, Anthony and I had to institute a "Plan B" for the sps frag. Jeff and I had those disks at home and were more than happy to donate them to the cause. Sorry that they don't fit your plan. With the change in frags, we didn't do a "weigh-in". Anthony has asked that people post pics of their frag with a ruler showing the its size. Given this, there's absolutely no reason you can't glue your frag to a rock as long as you're able to get your pics throughout the contest.

Thanks for MARS and Your Reef coming to the rescue. It was amazing this came together as well as it did. Kudos to you all. As to the frag plug, does the frag need to stay on this specific plug? Moving to another plug should be easy enough. Not an issue for me but might be helpful for others. I'll be happy if all 20 frags survive the duration given the various calamities that affect our hobby.

I would put my money on Tim.
He grows corals like no one else.

:p

No doubt,
But if I had to bet money it would be even money on You (Mark) Tim and Tom Blevins you all grow corals like weeds.
Good luck to all that are in this

So no water dispplacement required for this frag, just a ruler pic?

My tank is too full Paul. I don't have that prime location to grow out a frag in my tank anymore. I know... 1st world problem :fun2:

I guess everyone else is disqualified because they didn't post their pics up in the 72 hour window?

As we have 5 people that have not even picked up their frags the 72 hrs doesnt apply, Lets set the picture deadline at Jan 1st.

Are we posting here or MARS site or both?

Post in the MARS site because it is easier to manage for me.

Posting once I receive my reefraft frag - Thurs presumably.

What time can people meet how does 5- 5:30 sound?
