Slave to the reef!
I was in my garage cleaning up a 30 gallon to use for a sump for my new 90 gallon setup. I heard this loud pop, then another, i thought that maybe it was the stand for the 90 gallon, nope it was the 90 gallon cracking. It cracked right where i had drilled it. Apparently the sun heatup the back pane of glass cause it was painted black. Now im bummin.......

Anyone have a 90 gallon for sale?

I got a sweet stand and light but now i have no tank....looks like i should have used the overflow i bought after all.

Man that sucks!

That guy moving to mexico has a 120 for sale. Wouldn't that fit on your 90 stand? Might have to make it a little wider though.

Well i got the tank for free and it might be fixable. Im prolly gonna just replace the back panel and see what happens. Mind you, this will be a basement only tank, if it blows atleast it will be on cement in the basement.

Good thing Jasons got a 75 with the same footprint laying around.....

Like someone mentioned eariler, glade is happened know, because if it popped now, it had a stress crack already there. It was only a matter of time. Soundsl like a great opportunty to just go out and buy a new 90 already drilled and take the manufactures warranty.

sure......sure......I build the guy a stand.......then when he hears things crack he blames the stand FIRST......then I gotta get him a tank.......your starting to get worse at demanding things than my wife.

no no no, the stand was sitting funny cause my floor is uneven, that stand will hold elephants, i just thought it shimmied a little, sorry for the misunderstanding. Hell first i thought a bird hit my garage....i dint know ***.

And in Sashas defense, who wanted the who was whinning about their mountin dew when you building my stand?

;)

Thanks for the hookup with the tank man. Emporium wanted 340 for tank only.....what a deal huh?

is that in the DSM paper? I think i saw a 90 gal "saltwater" for 250 in the DSM register tonight.

At least yours cracked when dry. You can refer back to one of my earlier posts and reas about my 75 flooding a newly finished basement. Im only now just getting a new pannel put back on it. I know just how it feels. Its enough to make a grown man cry.

that seem way cheap. make sure they quoted you the right thickness. most shops thicked glass instock is 1/4 inch and a 90gallon should be 3/8inch. have them swipe/seam the edges. if you want it drilled they can do it for you
