OK, I got the electric bill for 1 full month of halides and it was $265, normaly $210. The house did not catch fire from all the heat and I have to say that i really love the look of radium 20K lamps. To my eye, every LED thank I have seen just looks dim and blue to me. I can't imagine how much money is saved with LED but it can't be that much.

Tank is still very new and immature, just starting to see corraline popping up on the dry rock but I just love it :)

Looks beautiful

OMG I think this is awsome!

That speedy 230 looks like you took the manifold off a top fule dragster and mounted it on a VW LOL. How are you planning on plumbing it?

If you plumbed it right, that thing might be all the flow you need :)

The pump and manifold is off my 500g that is currently shut down. Im using alot of my equip old equipment. Each manifold has a valve so im using one for return and another for UV. The other two ill be unused.

I probably just ditch the manifold that case and use a small pump for the UV. UVs work best with very low flow and I do not think you can get the kind of granularity with a ball valve to tune one of the outputs two two three four five hundred gallons an hour. But that's just me start a thread I want to watch your progress it'll be great :-)

Radium blue (AKA 20k) if you can find a m80 ballest, they are the bee's knees.

Thats mogul base? I didn't know they made 250 watt Radium bulbs. Maybe it's the DE bulbs I'm think off.
If you ever want to run a 250 watt DE bulb your more than welcome to the sunlight supply setup I have.
I ran 400 watt Radium on my old tank, loved the color.

Salt went in September 7, that's 7 weeks ago. In that time I have managed to put 36 corals in the tank, 1 died so that's 35. I'm having trouble remembering what they all are so if I got coral from you, you may get a message with a photo asking what this is LOL. I want to catalogue all my coral.

Here is my wishlist of coral, I have many of them and the tank is now at the keep stuff alive/ watch it grow. There's a few coral I am looking for but I have enough that I don't need any more. Rik/Dogerblew put me over the top with his tremendous generosity.

This was/is my wishlist:

Oregon tort
Lime in the sky we'll see how it grows but I think I got this from Dodgerblew/Rik
Hawkins Echinata.
Miami orchid Thanks Rakie/Tim
Kimbeensis
Purple rim green monti
Needle birddsnest
Graf bonzie RAP
Green slimer
Purple monster
Red dragon acro RAP
Joe the coralThanks Rakie/Tim
Setosa Thanks Rik/Dodgerblew

I'm not sure i understand blogs but suddenly I remember what a PITA reef photography is. Since the sun came up my WB shifted and i can't get a decent photo without lifting the canopy to place my WB card :( here's 2 photos, see my blog to read about them

Today I find myself in the hospital high as a kite on all kinds of opioids. There's another thread floating around but a battery blew up in my pocket

Luckily last week 556 wife and I went over how to mix kalkwasser and she successfully mixed up 10 gallons of kalkwasser last night and connected it to the dosing system. I'll see if I can get her to clean out the skimmer collection cup and change out a filter sock later today :-)

I really hope your ok prayers sent your way [emoji120] glad the tank is doing good as well

Thank you for the well wishes.

Reef Central is such a wonderful amazing community. I've already had offers to babysit all of my corals for as long as I need just to help me get better

Yup, he's right on the combo, M80 ballasts are still around, PFO, SLS, Hamilton...
I've been dry for quite a while and still holding on (or hoarding on) to a few M80's and Radium 250 for the day I start a tank again.

I have to tell you, even after all the terrible stories of how halides will cause global warming in my house, I absolutely love my 20Kradium/m80 ballest lighting. Even after you hooked me up with those AROs, I went to M80 as the radiums are SE HQI and the AROs were having a hard time fireing them.

I'll probably donate those ballest to someone who wants to give MH a shot. The AROs run the 20K plusright perfactly and have a huge fallowing of sucsessfull reefers and only cost about $15/ lamp. If I didn't already have several sets of the radium 20K's I would have stuck with the ARO/plusrite combo. It was a close call because the ARO/plusrite ballest take up less space, make less heat and use about 60 watts less power but still provide exceptional lighting.

My current problem is that I never mounted any of my frags or at least most of them and they are still on plugs but they have grown and are in the 2-4 inch range now which means that on a frag plug they are pretty much always getting blown over. :(

I have a chunk of dry rock that I busted with a hammer and I am slowly attaching my frags to larger chunks of dry rock for stability.

Still looking for lime in the sky and Oregon tort.

I'm kinda surprised Garret doesn't have an OG Lime in the sky -- He's got (or had) most of those older sought after corals, with true lineage.

Room is a premium so I'm not sure he's got it guaranteed.. But if you haven't hit him up yet, give it a go.

I asked him a month back and he said he was looking for it too, Mr V has a O-tort frag $50, I'd rather get one sooner than later as it is a slow grower.

JF has lime in the sky but he want's like $60 + $60 shipping which is fair but out of my budget.

I am getting frustrated with teh lack of corraline algae. My alk and calcium have been consistently ~9.5 and 430 for months but I don't see much corraline algae spreading. My SPS are growing and encrusting nicely but no corraline algae :(
