TOTM quality 6' SPS tank for under $1k? The 5.56 build thread; AKA a really bad idea

Congrats Mark, that's a beautiful size tank.
Looking forward to see that up and running.

Tank delivered. And it only slipped out of my hands 1.5 times... stupid slippery painted glass
Actually, upon further inspection, the bottom wasn’t painted. It was a thin sheet of ABS plastic applied to the bottom. I inspected it with a flashlight and with starfire glass, you can very easily see all the way through the glass and inspect the bottom edge of the glass and there wasn’t even the slightest hint of any chip.

It’s really a very nice tank. I think I’m going to try and sell the 90 gallon sump that came with it. Much better suited for a bigger DT.

Seriously? Which ones

I had the experience with the turbelle, round ones.
I still have them.
Also have an MP10 that the wet side magnet swelled and the plastic casing busted open.
Algae Free mags as well; the ones that had never given me an issue are the Mag Float and Korallia.

Man this is scary because some of my acros have been loosing tissue and dying overnight, ima need to check my skimmer return pump and all magnets.

Here are some images.
Tunze the epoxy failed. Algae Free guess the plastic housing is not sealed to prevent moisture going in and perhaps the same with the Ecotech Marine MP10.

Wow!!! That's gnarly.

I did some massive water changes and sent in another ATI test a week later and everything improved substantially except 2 things...

A few months back, I started using a garden hose for my water changes. Could that the bye source of my copper? I did cut the metal ends off before I ever used it.
