TR Maze Angel

Great fish.

I don't want to step on any toes, but I wanted to clarify what I'm sure everyone is assuming. The term TR (tank raised refers to raising larvae pulled from the ocean), while TB (tank bred) refers to the parents spawning in captivity where eggs are collected then raised.

I am under the impression that Wen's maze and annularis angels are in fact captive bred with adult brood stock in a large pond rather than larvae collected from the ocean?

Here is an update. He has almost doubled in size in nearly a month!

i havent noticed him picking on any corals either. i know he would probably destroy a clam since i feed him clams, mussels and oysters in the half shell.

The colors are coming in nicely. Clearly so different than my little blueline when he was changing.

Wow, awesome! Great pickup. I've been eyeball its sibling pretty hard. I'm glad yours is finally developing the blue striping.

its a great fish. hopefully they will begin breeding conspics in the not too distant future. would love to have a captive bred specimen.

You and me both brother! According to Humaguy, they've already successfully done it. Just waiting for them to come to market.

that would be awesome! i have always been reluctant to purchase a small wild caught specimen because of the internal parasite issues and long transit times.

no, the pair is giving eggs quite easily but they are perishing around day 15...I think they are hunting for a proper food source for it as it apparently eats different food than other angels...I think we are looking at 1-2 years for tb conspics..
he is doing amazing stuff...today he said he thinks the eggs he just found are Odontanthias borbonius...

Whoops, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I just saw the article on O. Bornonius. That'd be crazy if it turned out to be them! Very amazing stuff they're doing indeed!

it is definitely worth the wait. is he still doing clarions as well or is that over with?

I heard a rumor that he had lost one of the breeding parent but may have recently picked up another with the recent infusion of wild Clarions into our hobby.
