TRA vs TMCRA

Hey everyone. I am jumping back into reef tanks after a 4 year hiatus and noticed two books had come out. The Reef Aquarium vol 3 (Delbeek & Sprung) and The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium vol 4. (Fosa & Nilsen). I have both sets except for the those two volumes. Not sure I want to shell out for both. Has anyone compared the two? Is it worth completing the set(s)?

You can't really compare the two... The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium vol 4. is about invertebrates and little else, and The Reef Aquarium covers " the latest science, art, and technology" which by now is pretty dated information.

There was controversy about the first 2 TRA volumes having dated information when they came out. Although, many theories and practices drastically changed around 2000. Are you saying the TRA vol 3 is dated yet again?

Somewhat, yes.
