My open brain doesn't appear to have tenticles anymore. What could have caused this and will they come back? It currently inflates great. It almost looks like scar tissue where I would expect to see the tenticles.

if nothin has attacked it then i would say it is just not hungery.mine doesn't put out tenticals unless its hungery. did you try looking at night? how is your water parameters?

It was when I was feeding it that I noticed. I noticed it again this past time that I tried to feed it, but this time I got no feeding response. Not even an opening of the mouth. It had been over a week since the last feeding. I thought maybe someone bothered it, but it has been in my frag tank for over a month, probably two, ever since my ca/alk/mag went wacko and the clown rubbed some holes in it. Since then it has healed, created what look to be two new small mouths, and is fully inflating. Keep the suggestions coming. I have been racking my brain over this for weeks and finally gave up and posted.

do you have a pic how is the water now. brains don't like nitrates.if it was damaged it could take months to get it to feed again. when my doughnut got flipped over it took weeks to get it to feed. it inflated well just refused to eat. if there is no tissue ressesion i think it might be a waiting game

Water was fine last time I checked. If they take that long to eat after being damaged then I may just need to wait like you mention.

Thanks for giving me hope. It isn't receding. It is quite large. I'm not sure if it is bleached a little or if this is a natural color. I have been looking at a bunch of pictures where the brains look a darker green, but most of mine is a highlighter green to yellow color and I can't remember if it has always been that way. It has grown since I got him.
