Trade?? Acrylic sheet for MH ballast?

OK, I want to upgrade some of my lighting, but money is a little tight now and the "boss" won't let me sink money into a new ballast.

I have some acrylic sheets laying around that I don't see having any spare time in the near future to play with.

The idea occured to me, why not set up a trade?

It is 1/4" thick acrylic, 28-1/2" x 96" sheet. Not the top quality for a DT, but would work great for a QT tank, Sump or frag tank.

I am looking for a 250w MH ballast that can plug into my existing pendants.

Post or PM me if interested in doing a trade of if you want to haggle.

This has to be done in person obviously as the acrylic sheet can't be shipped.

They are a no-name brand of pendant that I got off of Ebay years ago. I normally preach quality with respect to reef stuff, but they have served me very well and I am very happy with them both in how they perform and how they look.

The connector is a 3-pronged, flat plate one with the male end going to the pendants. Square connector. Don't know how else to describe it.

As for type, I would prefer electric ballasts, but will take whatever I can get.

One of the kids is out of trouble, the other is in deeper for lying about having his homework done and trying to hide a bad grade from us. WAY too early in the school year to pull that kind of stunt!

Are your MH bulbs single end (SE) or double end (DE)? I have a couple of ballast laying around and have the opposite problem as you. I need acrylic.

They are single end mogul bulbs.

I have 4-250 watt SE magnetic Magnetek fcan stlye (they look like a fluorescent ballast) ballast. How many ballast are you looking for?

I only have two pendants so it would not make much sense to have more than that, although I would like to!!

The concern I have with those is the wiring. Do you have any sort of wiring harness for them? I have no problem hooking things up, just that I don't want to cut any existing cords if I don't have to. If I can find a harness that will work, it will be simple.

We may be able to work a deal out here.
