Trade Frags for Help with fish room

The tile is down, it is a good day.

The tile is down, it is a good day.

I had a few undocumented reefers come by and help me with the tile job.

Considering my knee and that it hurt for 3 days after scraping the old vinyl up, I was not going to be getting up and down on my knees. I got the job of tile cutter, besides it’s my saw. First I laid out the tile to get the layout of the inlay right and determine how to get the least amounts of cuts, hey it’s my saw and I want to save wear and tear on it. :)

The guys showed up and we snapped some lines down and they started laying tile and I made the cuts as they needed them. I thought it would be easy but when you have professionals putting it down its hard to get a break from the wet saw.

LOL,

What makes you think they are not in in a reef club?

LOL

Stephen, Hum??????I think they were in a club........yea thats it........They seemed to like the 65 and there was a few times I caught them looking at it and talking about something, I don't know what it was, my Spanish isn't that good.

That looks sweet! I love my tile and let me tell you - I get water everywhere. Just wipe it up and it's good to go, looks great! I really like the pattern - gives it a touch of style without going over - very nice.

Looks great Greg. When you get that new job and move south you will have this all figured out for the new house :)

O2,

Well see I might not mind the commute.
With the marina right down the street, I would have to be as close to the water as I am now and have access, to replace this house.

The guys from CAMAS (Central American Marine Aquarium Society) came by and finished the long back breaking task of cleaning out the joints and grouting, my back is hurting just from watching them.

I made dinner and we had a few beers and talked about my 65. They were amazed with it all and had a lot of questions, to bad my Spanish isn't any good. There was one guy who spoke English very well, so he had to translate for us.

I got most of the base boards cut and I plan on splashing on some paint in the morning and then after they dry Ill install them. I'm thinking that way it will be a lot easier just to caulk and fill nail holes then touch up the paint instead of having to paint the whole thing in place.

Should I wait until after I seal the grout then install the baseboards?

Its finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its all done.......Baseboards are in......the only thing left to do is touch up some paint. but there is a lot of that to do in the rest of the house too.

I'm happy to have had the guys from CAMAS do the install I'm not sure my back and knees could have taken it. after they were done I got the base boards cut and got everything ready to install the baseboards in the morning and called it a night.

This morning I put a coat of paint on the baseboards so I would not have to be on my knees all day painting, thinking that way it will be a lot easier just to caulk and fill nail holes then touch up the paint instead of having to paint the whole thing in place. After they dried, I installed and caulked them, The 3 large pieces went in like a charm but the small ones took a lot more time. The two pieces that went over the transition took forever to cut and of course they had to get installed on a block wall with nothing to nail then into.

The tank will be buffed out on Thursday and hopefully it all will be going together this weekend.

I'm a little behind on the stand I just got through wet sanding out some major runs in the poly and it all needs a few more coats. If I didn't suck so bad at painting it would be finished.
