Wow.. Has it really been this long since I posted...?
Ok, so I have a lot of explaining to do.. First off there are some really awesome builds that have finished up this year on RC, I have been reading like crazy trying to learn from everyone's mistakes. I have definitely picked up some pointers. So here's the story so far, life got in the way.. trying to finish remodeling my house, got married, new toys for other hobbies, lots of frag purchases way too fast for existing tank, ect.. So I learned a lesson with my small 90g that i feel will apply to any size tank, do your homework and try your hardest to do it right the first time! My 90 really ****es me off, but it's because I didn't prepare. You see I went way to fast and just figured I would learn along the way.. Well that did happen, but at a price. Let's put it this way the 300g tank in my basement along with all my other crap almost got boxed up and sold, but that would be too easy, and I like solving problems so I put everything on the back burner until I could become way more informed. I want a system that has no big headaches because I planned properly. The 90 was and is a great tank now, but I kept fighting battles that I could have prevented in the beginning that made it really un enjoyable. I have lost a lot of really great corals yet still have some good ones left, I am coming out of the woods now and gained some new motivation and that's why I'm here! Just so you know, I had no fish loss. They are all happy as can be. So on to the fun part!
I have done a ton of work in the past months and I will post some pictures as soon as I can re learn how to do that. My system is 80% plumbed and the 300 is wet and has been for probably 4 months. The rock has been in brute containers curing since at least April lol, I recently pulled it out and threw in in the sump. Rooms are getting close to completion but there has been a slight slow down from some semi serious back injuries that suck. There has been a 90g quarantine tank up and running for at least 6 months, and a whole bunch off additions that will just have to speak for themselves in the photos I put up later. I have a very large shipment of goodies coming soon that will put this build into the finishing stages and I couldn't be happier. I am confident in my approach now, slow and steady, and will hopefully have something I can really enjoy very soon. They say the build is half the fun and I can agree, but dang these large tanks get expensive fast! Anyway enough rambling, I have taking pictures of every step along the way, and there are hundreds. I will try my hardest to post them in order, and if there is something you want a closer look at just ask. Any and all suggestions are very welcome, I don't plan on putting anything in the tank for a while yet since I am at 70% with the whole project. I am getting close, the real fun begins now!
