Trainwreck's 300 Gallon Double-D!!!

I added 70lbs of Fuji for some base rock bringing my total to around 350lbs. Mostly pukani some fuji and a little tonga.

6 bags of sand for the 300.

Played around a little with the aquascape, and getting ready to add sand.

I am not sure what your seeing. I don't have a chiller or tankless water heater.

Behind you drilling looks like a tankless water heater.

I love boxes... I have three sitting upstairs now waiting on me. I opened two different ones though.

While I think you will like the 60's, personally I went with a few extra 40's. The minimum flow of a 60 was a tad to high when I was looking at them.

I can get two 40's to make a wave in a 265, so I know they will do what I am looking to do.

I love boxes too! I will have to go subscribe to your new thread so I can see what is in yours.

The mp60's are awesome! I am adding two more mp40's also. I already have one just waiting to get another once I get some corals going in there.

Yeah you should... I opened some but the rest will be over the weekend.

The 265 I am working on getting will have 4x mp40's. I am going to set it up to have the returns provide a lot of the flow.

Yeah with out a doubt, solid as a rock... LOL

The dryer must be a good distance away. I have a dehumidifier about that size, since they are side by side.

I got something for a CaRx in one of those boxes... plus something that will rotate 90 degrees once a minute.

Why are the center braces wet? Return pump too strong?

That's a good question. To get the water level were I want it the braces are in the water. I'm not really sure if this is a problem. I definitely have the return pump dialed down, and I could go further, but then the water would just barely be coming into the overflow. Now, the braces are not all the way in the water, just about a 1/4". The turbulence from the mp60's so far has been mixing the top of the water up and I'm adding two more mp40's. So I'm not to worried about surface water staying in the middle between the braces. Also I can't see it when I'm looking in the tank.. Unless I bend over a bit and look up. So it doesn't really bother me.

I looked at it before I left the house this morning. When I get home later I will lower the level just to see where the water sits when the braces are out of the water. I've been wanting to look into that eventually anyways. I will post my findings. The only reason I did that is because I like the water level to be near the top of the weir. Either way, I'm happy with its function now, but if the flow isn't much lower and it sits without the brace in the water that would be better.

Awesome updates! System is looking awesome, any problems getting the bulkheads in the rubber adds to seal, or is the material thin enough that the bulkhead flattens it out?

Thank you! I have more to post, almost caught up. There are flat spots on the front and back of the stock tanks that are perfect for bulkheads. I did purchase some uni-seals just in case it was going to be an issue, but it wasn't. They seal perfectly.

Well.. I haven't been very diligent with my posts, but i have been with getting work done on this build. I do have a lot of updates, and i feel like I will never get caught up with them.. I do not have any of the recent photos loaded up onto my computer yet, but then again i have a back log of other photos to share. So here we go..

After receiving the Radions i needed to install the wide angle lenses.

Finally time to get the frag tank filled.

Time for the salt.

I love getting to this point.

working on getting the lighting height right

All level

Time to fire them up.

All cleaned up

Here is the refugium, ready to rock just need to get the lighting hung.

A few more shots that don't really need explaining.. I have tons of photos if anyone wants a better angle of anything or is confused on how i did something. Just ask.

I need to clean, the lights are really getting stuff growing. I did lower the water level so the braces are out, these are just old photos.

Skimmer is finally hard plumbed

This skimmer is a beast by the way.. No joke, it is a work horse! I highly recommend it.
