Transferring tanks

Hey guys I setup a 125 gallon to transfer everything over from my 90 gallon. Using everything off the 90 except the sand. I bought some aragonite and rinsed it for at least an hour. Added it and my tank is really Cloudy... I made up 35 gallons of saltwater and added water after sand. Is it safe to transfer everything over tomorrow or am I going to have to wait... I have a heater and powerhead going in the 125 but all my equipment is being used on the 90 so I can't really filter the water until I do the transfer... had a couple friends scheduled to help tomorrow but now I am not so sure...

It needs to be full of water at the correct temperature and salinity. IMHO, moving used water is a waste of time and effort. Because you'll be moving the live rock you really won't have any cycle to speak of so you'll miss out on that. I would also suggest using a couple cups of sand from the old tank to seed the new.

How long has the 90 been set up? You will find that disturbing the sand to remove the rock will likely render that water toxic to whatever livestock is in there so catch everything first and move them over. Then take out the rock and use the old tank water to clean off any accumulated gunk. Move the rocks over, arrange them however you like and you will be good to go.

And a word to the wise - DO NOT place the rocks on top of the sand. Any sand sifting creatures you might have can easily cause a rock slide
