Hi Roger, one of my 6100's have stopped working and I think I found the reason.

Pretty sure they are out of warranty, but would appreciate some pricing and availablity of replacing this transformer. Is it possible that anything else in the loop (driver, stream) are damaged? The Driver (7240.27) gets REAL hot when I try to test the stream.

Advice? Help?

Thank you

I have done some more playing around, it appears the driver and transformer are both toast. The power head itself seems fine. I plugged the stream into the other driver/transformer and it works just fine.

As I suspected these are out of warranty (purchased 03/05)

Thanx Roger!

They should still be under warranty which is 2 years. If you could send me the pump, driver and transformer we will get it taken care of. As long as the driver has no water or salt damage it is a warranty repair but I have to verify that the motor block is drawing the correct wattage and not part of the problem. What I suspect is the driver broke, it could have been a faulty component or that the pump jammed for a prolonged time. This would then overdraw the transformer and while it shuts off at a certain temp, the temp is hot enough to deform the housing.

Cool deal on the warranty thing, I figured it was a one year warranty!

I will get it all boxed up and sent out to you, probably Monday. I don't think the prop got hung up, but I will leave that to your better judgement.

Thank you for the fast reply!

Talk soon...
