Transit of Venus

The sun poked through the clouds for an instant late this afternoon. I grabbed my Canon 400mm and shot through a hand held sheet of Badder solar filter material. That little dot on the sun is Venus passing between it and us, and it won't happen like this again for 124 years or so.

Thanks guys. It was a rather rushed effort, as I wasn't expecting the Sun to come out at all yesterday - it was overcast most of the afternoon.

I was planing on setting up my Celestron telescope but for the weather, but I'm glad I was able to capture it in any event.
