Hi guys,
Hope somebody can give advice. I received some dragon's breath in the mail that was wrapped in a wet paper towel in a small envelope with *no* insulation that sat in my mailbox in below-freezing weather for several hours before I got it home. I did not expect the packaging to be so terrible.
I was surprised to find it alive and red when I opened it. I acclimated by putting it in a baggy to float in the water, then did a freshwater dip before rubber-banding it to a rock and placing it in the middle of the tank. I have not-good LEDs that are putting out about 40 PAR at that depth. But I read that dragon's breath does well in low light. It kept fading as it was rubber-banded and went from a deep red to an orange color and just keeps becoming more and more transparent. I hardly have other macros in the display--two shaving brushes, a small teacup macro, and one sprig of grape algae. I did not think they would outcompete the dragon's breath and I'm sad it's not doing well.
Do macros come back from being transparent? I can only attribute to the poor shipping. It's been about 6 days and just goes more transparent, almost a faded green now! Any hope?
