I would probably put them in a thermos and place it in my checked luggage. With all these new restrictions on bringing liquids on board I wouldn't rist trying to bring them on as carry-on because if they stop you you are given two chioces: Throw them out or turn around and go home. Try calling the airline and see what they say.
You can always put them into a bag wrapped in saltwater dampened paper towels or newspaper... Thats a good way to transport zoathids and get around the liquid restriction... I would prefer to carry them on as you don't know the temperature variations of the cargo hold...
The cargo bay is pressurized and does get @ freezing on flight that reach altitudes of 30+ thousand feet. Perishable items are...ARE supposed to be carried in another place but most of time don't.
Your corals can be shipped freight also.
