Treating brooklynella with Rid-Ich Plus (URGENT HELP NEEDED)

In regards to my previous post: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2452305

I found an LFS that carries Rid-Ich Plus which apparently has formalin and malachite green and is effective against Brooklynella according to old threads I found.

HOWEVER - How do I use it to treat? Add directly to the tank (Hospital tank, obviously not DT!!!!) or should I create a "dip" (if so, at what dosage and how?)? Should I use as directed with the dosage? It says at 10 drops per gallon it will produce .005mg/L of malachite green and 15mg/L of formalin.

I need an answer ASAP as my remaining clowns have spots of Brook now and I need to treat it immediately!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

I would use it as a dip and transfer them to a fresh clean tank each time. That site has instructions for formalin 3, you can compare the doses.

The dip thing is honestly impossible for me for too many reasons to list in a short post so I'll be doing the in-tank treatment option listed.
However, I'm unable to compare doses as there is no mention of mg/L of formalin in the suggested dosages. I'll just go by the label of Rid-Ich Plus for now.

Is anyone aware of the PPM present per 10 gallons in a 1-2 teaspoons of Formalin 3?

Okay, I just saw that Formalin 3 is 37% formaldehyde while my Rid-Ich Plus is 4.25%, does this mean I need to multiply the dosage by 8.7??? That seems absurdly high and I do not wish to hurt/injure/kill my fish.

Has the ppm. If you aren't going to transfer to fresh container, odds of success are much lower. I've done both and learned the hard way.

Transferring to and creating a fresh QT daily is neigh-impossible for me.
Unless I misunderstood and only the dip containers need to be fresh/cleaned each day? But wouldn't the fish just be re-infected going back into the infested QT waters...?

Also, it looks like the suggested dosage for long-term bath is 20-40ppm of formalin. Given that Ich Attack Plus seems to offer 15ppm per their suggested dosage of "10 drops per gallon" I should likely do 66-132 drops in the 5 gallon QT I have set-up...?
Just want someone to double-check my math :p

If I do a 20-25% water change daily, I'd imagine that I should re-add 20-25% of the dosage of ich-attack plus as well?

Aaaaah I misread it, I'd need to keep hypo salinity of 1.009 in QT during the treatment... I really don't trust myself to keep that salinity, I'm more-or-less a n00b as-is. I'd be incredibly concerned of it going higher and ruining the entire treatment due to evaporation... Ugh. This is a tough call.

It's not necessary to maintain hypo for brook. Quick Cure is another alternative for formalin and it can usually be found at Walmart.

The argument for hypo during formalin dips is preventing re-infestation. It's confusing because brook is not known to be cured with hyposalinity. I do it anyway because keeping low salinity for weeks during and after formalin dips seems to create less than perfect conditions for parasite breeding/cycle. In other words, it can't hurt. Keeping regular salinity may help any drop off to multiply. Or so I think.

Yes but the parasite can survive, albeit a low virility. Better option would be to put the fish in a clean tank following the dip as recommended in Post #2.
