Treating gigantea with antibiotics?

Hey all,

I have read in a couple places where people recommend treating freshly shipped / acquired gigantea with an antibiotic bath. One place I saw this was in Delbeek and Sprung's "The Reef Aquarium". They recommended using a 10ppm Neomycin (or chloramphenicol, if you can get it) bath for new gigantea.

Have any of you tried treating these anemones with antibiotics to improve survivorship? Successes, failures, etc?

There is a thread here somewhere that I started that has lots of info regarding doing this with magnificas. I'll see if I can find it later.

IME once there is any tissue necrosis it is too late. This happens on the inside first, so you have to look for secondary signs that can be pretty subtle.
