Treating with Vitamin C

some of my zoas start closing(almost melt) when i dose VC and then open and then close again. thats why i want to bump it up the dose and see what will it do next

I have a total volume of about 50gallons. I started very slowly to avoid any problems and/or shocking my system. This is what I did:
1/8 tsp 2x day for 1 week
1/4 tsp 2x day for 1 week
1/2 tsp 2x day for 1 week (current regimen)

Question:
How much should I be adding to gain better growth and help prevent two small frags from completely melting away? I don't seem to have any problems with my other frags but I did lose a small colony last month and now im starting to lose two other small frags(TubeBlues and BamBams) :-(

LexSkizzle, I dose 1 tsp in the morning & 2 tsp at night in my 100g system for maintance, so my zoas don't go back to melting. You can certainly double what you are dosing, if things aren't looking better soon

Thanks Pufferpunk! I will work towards that next week. I'll keep you posted.

Zman42- I noticed a difference in about 1-2 weeks on some bleach hairy mushrooms that have not had any color in months(switched lighting). I have yet to observe any positive or negative changes to my zoas/palys but im only on week 3 and haven't ramped up to the recommended dose for my water volume. HTH

I think my biggest difference was by a month but some swear they have noticed changes within a few days, like zoas that never opened since they got them were opening.

I must say, I'm finding out many things about zoanthids in general in this thread, in addition to learning about people's Vit C experiences.
