Trichome's 118g NPS Project

Amazing setup!

Thank you.

I was looking back on some of the older photos and I think it might be time for me to try and show some growth from over the years. I am just amazed at the growth i have gotten from some of the coral. I will try to get it updated soon.

Thank you.

Please do. Looking forward to see your progress.

Inspiring stuff here, loved every bit of the read, utterly amazing, it's people like you who will drive others to achieve feats like this or perhaps greater!

From the Ultimate Multi Mantis Kingdom, we tip our hammers and spears to you :)!

Thank you so much. I checked out your thread and its awesome. I have never seen so many mantis in one place.

Below is a short video I took of my Dendros shortly after the lights came on.

Here is a picture to go with it.

I fragged some of the dendros from the pictures above. During the process i somehow ended up with a piece of dendro with no mouth. The little piece was about a quarter of an inch big and had skin on both sides of it. I decided to glue this piece onto a chunk of rubble rock and see what happens. I figured it would either slowly recede into nothingness or in order for it to survive it would have to grow a head. I took a close look at it today (1 month later) and noticed is now has a head! You can see how much the skin receded. This is the best picture i could take. Its a top down shot i took with a point and shoot waterproof camera. As far as i know this is a new undocumented occurrence.

I've actually had Tubastraea do the same thing - where small chunks of flesh would become attached to the rockwork. A head would eventually develop.
I always thought this was a means of propagation for them.

I have had sun coral spawn and make babies that look like the one you pictured. I have 3 right now. I never knew that dendro or sun coral would grow a new head from a chunk with no mouth.

I am going to take pictures of it each month and do a time lapse slide show after a year.

I think i have 2 heads forming on the side of the left single dendro polyp. I raised this single head from a little spec. The single dendro head on the right is a new frag and its skin is already starting to grow over the super glue.

*UPDATE* The above picture shows what i thought was new heads starting out. They never formed a head and the dendro still has only one head.

I had a mass bristle worm spawn last night in my tank about an hour before the lights went out. Here is the video:
