Trick to open RO membrane housing?

Hi Guys, it's been a long time. I finally got around to ordering a new RO membrane from Bulk Reef Supply (along with a complete set of new filters). I got the filters installed and the DI resin replaced no problem and now we come to the RO membrane. I have never tried to open the housing. It thwarted all my attempts with all the force I could muster with two bare hands. I am reluctant to break out the tools, I don't want to break off a fitting using force on the wrong part. I'm not even sure I have a spanner that large.

Does anyone have any tips to share?

They sell specific wrenches for the RO membrane housing. It's like $10 on ebay. My RO unit came with one.

Put some silicone o-ring lubricant on the gasket when you eventually get it open, so it doesn't happen next time.
