i recently bought a large cbb which cost me 40 plus the 60 for a large coco worm. that said i want to know what i can do to get him on the aiptasia. i tried feeding the aiptasia mysis so that he would try one but he ignored it. any suggestions?

CCBs are hit-or-miss. Sometimes, they won't even eat aiptasia. If that's why you bought him, you can take him back to the lfs and get Joe's Juice or do it yourself with lemon juice.

crap! i tried the manual method and it didnt work very well for me. he hasnt been in a month yet. is there a chance he may try them later?

Not likely. More likely to go after the coco worm. CBB are iffy for aiptasia and for the matter are iffy to feed.

I had a CBB to get rid of aptasia in a previous tank. The CBB took about a week or two to start eating them but it was great at removing them. If it's been close to a month I doubt it will start eating the Aptasia. Is the fish eating the mysis that you offer? If not eating consider returning it to the lfs.

I have had my current CBB for 18 months and it has never touched an aiptasia. It rarely even eats offered foods - maybe a piece of mysis every now and then. By most accounts, I am living on borrowed time with him having had it so long, but perhaps the key is letting the tank feed it.

I also have had great luck with peppermints, but you need more than a few of them. It also helps if you kalk/juice the larger ones.

I also vote for peppermints.. haven't seen an aptasia in years..
kinda hard to find the shrimp too till the lights go out. I added 5 shrimp and they seemed to pick off the smaller aptasia first.. must taste better

I got a defective pep. He refuses to look at my aips. :(

Prodded at a majano once, then turned away...
