Thanks to Dave (and Chris in the past) at the CR last night for helping me complete my 3 most desired fishes. Here they are. Please excuse the poor photo quality, partial out of focus and dirty glass:

1st addition, rhomboid fairy wrasse, brought in as a juvi, starting to morph into a male now and coloring up nicely (quite a transformation, huh Chris?):

Next came the lineatus, still looking like a female, but who knows? Beautiful regardless...

Finally, last night I got a male laboutei, g'day mate:

I'm drooling, Dave... I love wrasses. A pair of M. bipartitus, a pair of lineatus, and a mysteri and I'd be ecstatic.

Yep, my photos are not good, I'll grant you that:) They're all fairy wrasses, ideal reef fishes but notorious jumpers. 4" is typical and I think they can get up to 6" but I've never seen one that big. They aren't collected that often due to their deep water habitat.

Are you going to spend 5 minutes discussing them at the meeting?

Nope, alkalinity/calcium/magnesium will take awhile to explain and make everybody understand. Boring for the old-timers, but with all the new blood, a very universal and important topic IMO. My "ulterior motive" with these pictures is to try and entice a large turnout at the meeting because I believe that everyone can greatly benefit from being a member of a reef club!

Wow! Very, very beautiful fish. Congrats, Dave!

I tried a Scotts Fairy Wrasse (Australian) the other day... he didn't make it. :( I'm going to try again, though. Or maybe just go with a Solar Wrasse.

so these are fairy wrasses - are there other types of wrasses? No sure if "type" is the right terminology. I have a 6-line wrasse - what type is it? Thanks
