Triggers Triggers Triggers

those are some badass fish.

about how big is that monster puffer? what kind of puffer is it, sorry i dont know much about ID'ing puffers.

Thanks a lot. Thats a 12" Mappa puffer .The fish are doing great.I did a light feeding after a day of no food and their was absolutly no fish on fish violence.I fed the pellets abd even the large clown trigger was eating them off the sand bed

My first major update

I lost my clown trigger .It was not from aggression .It had velvet and died in the hospital tank this morning.none of the other fish are showing signs .yet.I am very upset as that was an awesome Clown Trigger.
The only Good thing I can say at this time is that all the fish seem exeptionaly well behaved and their is absolutley no fish on fish violence.I am doing extra water changes and going through filter pads fast ,to keep water quality up.

sorry to hear that man, that was one amazing looking clown trigger.

along with cupramine in QT, i've been giving my fish 1hr formalin dips. it doesnt look like the fish are bothered during the dip at all. 4gal SW+4ml 37% formalin. i've formalin dipped 6 different angelfish and 1 powder blue tang so far. some i've dipped 2-3x after my bout with velvel/oodnium. just something to consider.

if you dont mind, what are the dimensions of your tank? glass or acyrlic? i'm looking at an upgrade sometime next yr.

He got Velvet in your dt and you moved him to a ht? what did you medicate with? looks like he is in your dt in the 1st pic as I can see the Lunula in the background...hope the tank is not infected...

I noticed what i thought was ich .I removed the Clown and this caused a great deal of stress.I put him in a 55gal hospital treated with cupramine after one day he was covered in velvet .The velvet was gone after 12 hours but the fish was dead.I dont see any signs in the DT so I believe it was induced from the tank transfer he trashed alot and was never the same afterwards only worse.

Glad you asked.I lost the clown trigger, mappa puffer and lunula(breaks my heart) from ich.i removed the blue line(way to aggressive of a fish (even though I never witnessed an incident)) and goldenheart(he was being aggressed by the giant hawk)I was left with the passer the giant hawk the huma and the kiri island trigger plus an eel.I heated the water up and let the ich bloom and subside all my fish are fine now 7 weeks later.I have decided to go in a much less aggresive direction .I am going to do a planktonivore trigger tank as they are much better suited to be in a tank together
I just purchased a 11' goldenback trigger and a nice durgeon from NY aquatics .if all goes well I may add some corals

sorry, that is a bummer...what did Michael want for the gb trig? I am assuming you asked him to get it as I did not see it on nya...that is a sweet trigger too but can be testy...please post pics soon!!
I have the assassi from dd a few nights back coming in today...and that tiny Regal angel Michael has is coming tomorrow...she wasnt eating so he held her for a few days...she is real small and I hope she makes it...good luck! TK

Nice pick up with the assasi .I was close to pulling the trigger on that trigger.
Michael is a great guy .the trigger was 750$ .good luck with the Regal if it turns the corner then it should be smooth sailing with the tiny ones.

as you can see this goldenback has insane colors

yeah, one of my very favorite triggers...but they are always so big...
was not sure about getting the Assassi, as honestly, that was way too much to pay for one...but, again, one of my favorite trigs...my last Assassi was prob my fav fish ever...great personality, liked to be pet, just a great fish...
I can't get into my photobucket account...so, I have not updated any pics of my new tank and current tanks and fish...will try to do that soon, and post pics of the Assassi and Regal...think Michael said the Regal was 1.5 inches...but didnt eat for a couple days...he said she is doing great today...

ps..how big is that tank? I am about an hour from NYA, in CT...would love to see your tank...be happy to show you mine if you in the area...800 is almost ready for water!

I live 40 minutes south of NYA on long island and all ways welcome fellow fish heads to visit ,plus i have one of the nicest Green tree python collections around.also would love to see the 800 when its done thanks.
