trouble with 9010 skimmer

Had this skimmer operating for 3 months to the day. This morning - skimmer is dead in water. I took it all apart and the motor/impeller magnet was quite hot.

Is the motor shot?

Thanks for any advice you can give me. 3 months - it would still have warrenty wouldn't it?

It is still under warranty. Have you tried pulling out the impeller assembly? If you are running a high calcium or KH or adding kalk or calcium reactor effluent near the skimmer it may just be locked up with calcium, when they overheat they shut off until they cool down and it could just need cleaning to free up the moving parts.
