BTW, if there is a bubble in this tube(s) all you need to do is insert a piece of airline tubbing through the shorter end until you get to the bubble and suck the air out
something he change to act different and i think is the pump like a told him before check your overflow and the pluming coming from it better off show us some pictures and i sure will help you
i am getting some pics of his set up tomorrow so i think that will help figure out what is going on here, i 2 was wondering where the water was going, i could only think that the return section does did not have much water to flood the display thank god for that in this case. I think the pictures will help solve this. Not sure if he is up for it, but is there anyone in Miami that might be able to lend a hand, i am in VA and can't help much besides talking him through some stuff.
thanks tremendo and all i will let him know in the morning to get with you, i don't sleep lol, on a side note tremendo i see your into reef photography..anthony calfo was in my area last week and i went to his presentation hosted by spaquatics.com it was great.
I'm half surprised that nobody offered to swing by and check it out. Maybe it was just too late on a sunday night.
So the question goes; noob1983, where you at? Let us know roughly where you are, and someone hopefully can come by during the week. I know if you're within a few blocks of a metrorail station, I don't mind swinging by Tuesday or Wednesday night.
I am pretty far west and south. I live by country walk ... 152 st and 152 ave area ... Im uploading some pics for maybe it can help more cuz I just tried again and it still doesnt work .. frustration is kicking in
i have a feeling its what I said it is. the amount of water in the sump does not fill the tank enough to overflow the overflow at maximum capacity. aka you need to add more water in the sump. the whole tank goes up about 1 inch before the overflow is actually working fully. aka you need to add that much extra water to the sump.
or lower the box inside the tank. there should be a little screw that you can loosen, lower the acrylic box, and tighten again.
but...after seeing those pictures...the water should be at the eggcrate level atleast when the pump is running...and when the pump isn't running all the water will back siphon down and will probably come close to filling that whole thing up...aka you need to fill it almost all the way up when the pump is off.
i looked at the pictures and i think the U tube with the air line is in backwards, i think if he inserts the airline in from the back, into the tank almost and starts the siphon it will flow from the tank into his wet dry, I think the ball valve may still have to be used to slow down the return flow. If anyone is close to help, i am sure it would be a big hand if anyone could help him with the ball valve as he is like myself not very good with that stuff. the pictures give us something to base the problem upon with i think helps ALOT.
Call me 954-601-7333, it could be the water volume, it could be air bubbles on the u tube, it could be the u tube been backwards and loosing suction, it could be that you need a second u tube, most of these problems have easy fixes, but unless you actually try adding the water and report what you are seeing we will be here two more days.
tried adding water and then started the syphon then pump. Same outcome. Water started flowing into wet dry as the pump was pushing water out. The level of the sump just decreased pretty rapidly and tank almost overflowed.
