Nice build so far, you have been very productive!
I'm surprised you guys were able to move the tank using suction cups, especially down the stairs as typically they have very little shear strength. Anyways very exciting.
I have created a great fishroom thread where people can post there fishroom and sump pics. Kovy actually has been helping me keeping it interesting while I work on my own. It would be awesome to see your system in that thread as well. Here is the link

Ok.... had other plans today but the wife and I started messing with rock and before you now it.... its all together, in the tank, and water is going in!!
Here are pics of the mess we made while working... and finally the final product in the tank before water went in. We used Reef Saver rock from BRS as well as using the concrete cement Marco rocks sales. We used a couple pieces of rod as well in a few of the larger pieces. I REALLY like the cement from Marco Rocks, it worked GREAT!
By tomorrow evening we will have it full of water, and seeded from sand and rock from my current tank... right now I've got both RODI units working overtime as I've got about 200 gallons into the tank with another 200 +/- to go!

Me too. I was going to work on them tonight. I have 6 Ecotech Radions. I'm going to mount them in 2 rows, 3 to a row the long face forward. My plan is to but 4 pieces of 5' long SS or Alum Angle Iron to mount them to. Then Hand them using chain and hooks to allow me to raise or lower them.
I headed to the local Home Depot just a bit ago only to come in the door 5 minutes before they closed... needless to say that wasn't enough time to figure out all what I needed....

Looking great Troy! Love the scape man. I also think it's really cool that your wife is into it and along for the ride. Can't wait to see lights and aqua!

I know its hard but cycle with lights out. I went about 4 weeks with no lights and had mininal gha pop up when I did turn the lights on. what did pop up was wiped out by the clean up crew I added last week. everything was gone in 2 days.

I don't plan on running them much, if at all, for a while. It's just the next step in the build! Plus I really want to see the tank with the LEDs turned on!
Ok... its been a few days since I last posted an update. Thats not because nothing has been progressing. The tank is cycling away right now, the rock work has been adjusted just slightly, the lights (6 Ecotech Radion's) are mounted and programmed, and I've done some work programming the Apex controller. I've got the Temp and PH probes working, the Vortech (1 MP 40 for the moment) are connected to the Apex, and the Skimmer is working great.. although I'm not running it other than to play with it. I've also got the Apex network working as well as access from my iPhone and iPad (pretty cool)!
Next steps are to get the ATO working and programmed into the Apex. I also need to move one more MP40 from my 90 gallon (leaving 1 in place for now). After that the QT tank install will begin. Unfortunatly there will be another lag in time as I'm off on another business trip next week to Orlando. The wife will have to keep an eye on the cycling tank.

Ok... a short update. We have been cycling for 2 weeks now. I used BRS Reef Saver dry rock, dry sand, one bag (40ibs) of live sand, a few cups of live sand from my existing tank, and 5 pieces of live rock in the DT and 2 in the sump. I also used some Nutrifin Cycle to kick start things.
At 2 weeks I've got zero Ammonia, zero Nitrate, and zero Nitrite's. Calcium is at 500. PH ranges from 7.95 to 8.15. Temp is between 77.6 and 78.0. I do have a little bit of brown algia but not too much. I've started to insert a cleanup crew a few members a day (Astria and Turbo snails) and we've been feeding the tank to keep the cycle moving along. I've turned on the skimmer but its still in the break-in period and is making enough foam to last a lifetime.
I've got the frag tank all hooked up with an ATI light over top and I've put a couple frags into it just to see how things are looking/working.
No fish yet although the cycle is going so smoothing my patience is being challenged as I'd like to get the old tank moved over and put up for sale. Good thing I was on a business trip this past week and will be gone again for 4-days around Memorial day weekend this week. I'll hold off and not move anything until week 4 or later for sure!
I'm not too far away from needing to start stocking the corals!!
