True Perc changing

So I got this clown about 7 months ago and over the last month the black has filled in. Is it still a true perc with a lot of black or is it something else?

When they get older the black starts to fill in. Looks great tho! You should pair it up with a small one

Thanks! I actually have a small maroon clown in the tank too. They get along well but I think throwing another perc in the tank would cause havoc.

True percs can range from thick black bars to full onyx (very little orange on the top/bottom fins/tail) They often color up more as they age and in some cases like mine lose that black in anemones.

This is a picture of my Wild caught true perc when she was first introduced to the anemone

After 6 months or so in that anemone she has lost most of her black but still holds very thick black bars.

Mine is a Sustainable Aquatics tank raised perc. It would be nice if it gets as covered as an onyx.
