True Perc + False Perc= Mated?

My LFS is saying they have a mated pair of true percula/false percula....


Does anyone know if this creates problems down the road? Anyone with personal experience?

Will they be able to mate and live long prosperous lives?


Do you think the false perc will be more likely to host anemones the true perc is hosting, and vice versa?

I would not think so.I would just watch them and see what happens.

They will be fine. Ocellaris and percula are perfectly compatible. They will even lay eggs together and produce viable offspring. Ocellarisxpercula hybreds are often called percularis.

Yep, perfectly compatible. I have a pair of Sanjay's Black Photons, which are a mix on Perc Onyx and Black and White occelaris. They are stunning.

However, it is quite possible that their offspring may be infertile.

not a problem with mated or spawning.

Problems usually comes in with their offsprings having a higher % of misbar. Not necessarily a problem to most hobbyist but tend to be issues for hatcheries
