Hello everyone,

I bought one fish like two months ago it was very small. At the FLS, they marked it was a tank raise True Perc. One month later i went to another fish store and bought another one. This one is also marked tank raise True Perc. I put the fish new fish in to the tank. The old one was nipping and chasing the new one. This goes on for a month now. But this week, the old one is out to kill. The aggression is getting worst. It is like the old one just want to kill the new one now. So i have to separate the two of them. So i was wondering do i have two True Perc or one true perc and the other one is false. This can't be normal, it has been a month already. The new one submit and do the seizure thing but the old one keep on attacking. It is chasing nonstop. Oh yeah, this is a 10 gallons AGA. I have 1/4 of the tank full of feather algae. Most of the time the new one hide in those algae for the last month.

These are the pic. I already write on the pic which one is old fish and which one is new.

So please all the clonws expert, Look at the picture and let me know if both of them are true perc or one is false and the other is true. On the picture i already write old and new.

Please let me know..
thanks alot...

I'd say they are both tank raised. They also appear to be the same size which will cause problems because there is a chance they'll both want to be more dominant. When I got both mine they were around the same size and it also took a while for one to become the more dominant one. I'd say if you wanted, then to put them both together and just let it keep going, it looks horrible and I know I felt horrible about just letting it go on but with time they will know there rolls. If it gets to bad then you could return one and get a larger perc to make the pairing process easier.

Yeah, i take those with flash light so i dont know if it effect the eyes or color of the clowns or not. so you think they are both tank raise True perc? anyone other clowns expert out there??

Btw how old are they?
Wait and see if one starts shaking at the other. This will be the beginning of the formation of a bond. One will submit and become the male while the other will go on to become the female.

If things start to get really bad then take one of them back and try to bring home an immature (try and get one that is young and not just small) clown.

They are very young, The first one i bought when it just have two bars and start to form the third bar. that was two months ago. The second one is from a baby batch that come to my lfs about a month ago also. Both of them are just baby. I have the first one by itself for a month and with this one for another month.. i dont' know if it already change to female or not. I don't think the second one is female yet becuase he was small and not the dominat fish at lfs (there were about 30 of the baby in one tank). for this past month it was ruled by the old one. Some time it did submit and do the seizure thing but the old one still attacking.... I feel bad so i put the new one in a breeder net. Because of the color different and the eye different, i start to doubt if they are both True perc or not. That's why i post the pictures and ask you guys for identification.
