trying agian, please help my nems twisting off tenicles

hmm. looks pretty small, but you do know that maroon can and probley will kill those percs eventually? I hope it works out for you because its really neat, but maroons are pretty evil. and will get about twice as big as those percs

Try to hit 8.3-9.3 on alk. I've found a lot of corals, and a nem is sort of one, react profoundly to low alk. I use Kent dkh buffer pegged to my evap rate, dissolved in my topoff water, keeps the alk steady. I've found that one reading being out of whack accounts for a lot of tank iffy-ness. Don't know if that will help. Also, on your extreme flow, you might slit a coarse sponge and cover the head with it: if it blows it off, tie it on with fishing line---won't corrode or break. Be sure the sponge is aquarium rated: most kitchen sponges you can buy are treated with antimicrobials. Your lfs might have one they'll deal you: a huge one comes with bigger mag pumps, and a lot of people discard them.

sk8er really?? jeez *grin* i thought it should be at 7.0 guess we are always learning. Ive got dkh too, Ill stir some up. my candycanes react to alk extreamely

so the nem looks great today except the spot makes her not be able to extend much. im possative she'll be running around agian tonight. hope she floats so i can grab her and put her in her ol happy spot lol

spouge is a great idea too! if nothing else it may help my concern of not being able to cover these pumps. i should be able to lay them on the inside of the ball.

thanks alot.

well this afternoon it balloned up its foot nice and big and decided to walk/float not sure whitch because i saw my opurtunitie to get it away from the pump and the glass, and i caught it and placed it where it used to be. it immediately moved and sat on some poyps. (third dead coral in two days) then started stinging my frogspawn whitch i immediately moved.

tonight it made actual feet/legs and started walking agian, to its old spot!! yay!! its foot isent at all damaged and i still donno why it moved, but it doesent look bad at all anymore. the two tenicles that got chopped look super weird with a lil string hanging out of the top of each.

I hope it stays!!! maybe this will be the last time i hafta set my alarm 3 times in the middle of the night to check on its safety!!

see polyps above. theyll come back eventually i bet..

also see part of its balloned up foot on each end of the nem. its actually walking!!

That guy definately has issues or wouldn't be doing his walk-about thing so often. Must be female, never can please them.

Oh, no response necessary from you nice ladies out there.
