I have a pair of mated Pink Skunks waiting for me at the lfs. I would like to provide them with a host anemone that they would choose in the wild. A Ritteri would be my first choice but I am not set up for the demands of such a difficult animal.
I have a 30 gal. cube with a 10 gal. sump which I am going to upgrade to a 29 gal. sump before stocking. Lighting is 150W 14K HQI w/2X24W T5 actinic. There is an Eheim 1260 return pump for about 400 gph flow. I currently have a shallow sand bed - 1 to 1 1/2" but could make it deeper depending on the needs of the anemone.
I kept a BTA for 3 years in the past before I sold it and its maroon clown. It almost died from the clown's abuse early on, but with intensive feeding it came back and grew large enough to handle her. So I feel I know enough to handle another anemone.
I am thinking H. Crispa because it is a host in nature but I would also consider a Hadonni since I have seen a number of pictures with Skunks in carpet anems.
I would appreciate any opinions or advice on either of these anemones.
Thanks - Laurie
