I would like to get a tube anemone because of their vibrant color, but I am nervous about my other animals in the tank. I have a pretty packed 75 gallon I'd like to put it in, but I have heard they pack a pretty strong sting. Here is a quick list of my tank inhabitants.

1 Yellow Tang
2 3-Stripe Damsels
1 Blue Damsel
1 chromis
1 long finned fairy wrasse
1 Bangaii Cardnal
2 Molly Miller Blennies
2 Perc clowns

2 Orange Serpent Stars
1 Standard Serpent Star

1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Fire Shrimp

lots of LPS, some softies, shrooms, red bubble tip anemone etc..

Will the tube anemone kill my fish or inverts.. Any info anyone has would be appreciated..

Does the anemone retract into its tube like a feather duster? I know NOTHING about this type of anemone.. Also can I put it in the same tank w/ a RBTA because I know you arent really supposed to mix anemones in small systems but this will be in my 75 gallon..

I have a large tube anenome in my 100 gal that gets to a wingspan of about a square foot at night.... It's fairly large but has never touched any inhabitants of the tank. I've seen my cleaners get a bit to close and his tntacles touch them but they just use there anntenia to shrug it off.... just keep them well fed feeding every day and you should be fine!

I've kept them for years. Their sting is no worse than any other anemone. They eat anything you give it. I had gotten one before reading up on them years ago and after reading all the death and destruction threads, I put it in a 7 gallon tank by it self. It ate anything I gave it including cichild pellets. After awhile I had too many baby fish and added a baby Bangai Cardinal into the 7 gallon. It survived the day so I added the whole clutch. 20 newborn Cardinals. They survived, no problem. Just swimming between the tentacles (which pretty much filled the 7 gallon). So I added the tube anemone to my main tank and kept it for many years until I gave it away. Your mileage may vary, but I had no problem keep tube anemones in my main tank.
