tubs blues

ive got some tubs im getting from a guy and my question is how fast do they grow? my 90 gallon is mainly zoas, ive got over 30 varieties currently. i know that some grow very fast and some grow very slow. where do the tubs rank in growth? where is the best place to put them in the tank? ive got 940 watts of light so i would assume in the sandbed... any help is appreciated

had 2 separate frags.. 1 with 3 polyps within a few weeks got 10.. the other one 5 polyps within a few weeks 15 or so..

yea, where did you place them in your tank??? do they really keep the bright blue color??? all the light colored blues ive got kinda fade to a speckled look due to my intense lighting...

Keep in a somewhat shady area and allow good flow they will double soon.

I have mine about 16 inches below my 14k 250 watt hallides.

got them on my 96w 10gal tank. placed high about 3" from the light. in 2 months it grew from 10 to 21 polyps. dont know if thats a good growth rate.

id say thats great growth. most of my other fast growers are about the same. whereas slow growers are like maybe 5 polyps in a year...

I got mine 10" below the surface on 8 bulb 54watt T5s... good flow, dispursed not bashing at them, good light and good water quality... A buddy of mine has monster colonies of tubs, AOG's, supernovas and his are under halides and near the surface I think.

Yes, my Tub, AoG and Supernova colony are near the surface of the tank. They develop very nice color and growth very fast. I am testing to see if they develop different color under various depth in my tank.

I'm on my 3rd day of darkness. 4 more and I'll be cool, then do a 50% water change to see how everything goes.

Man, you gotta hook me up with that too... so I dont' have to freakin bother elite anymore... :lol:

Oh and yeah, I just picked up an esquisite wrasse and a carpenters flasher for $20 each, well 1 was free as a replacement from my dead on arrival lubbocks... from AC.

My prized LE corals and higher end zoos and palys are going to my friends tank tonight for safe keeping till I get me tank specs back in order. :thumbsup:
