Hey ok so i got the 9005 to replace the css 65 on my 29 gal sps dominate tank.... only problem is the skimmer is in tank and it is cranking out micro bubble like thats its job. How do i stop this, ive tried adjusting the amount of water goin into the skimmer via the sliding door thing but they still are getting pumped out. Any help???? Could i push like a piece of black foam in the outlet hole to trap some??? LMK thanx alot

The door should be completely closed to minimize the bubbles. This problem will reduce greatly over the next two weeks. This is fairly normal on a new skimmer but as it breaks in it will work itself out.

Mine skims better with the door wide open. It releases more bubbles too, but not enough to bother me or the tank's inhabitants. I have experimented with the door positions and have found that wide open is the only way to go with this skimmer, especially for sps. It skims a little darker closed, but pulls less particulates, which is my preference as I have no mechanical filtration.

The door adjusts the amount of water let in, vs the amount that is recirculated, if it is fully closed 80% of water is recirculated. It will skim but it will not be as strong, this adjustment is designed to allow you to regulate whether it operates in plankton safe mode or not.

My last sentence is a little confusing, I mean that I prefer to skim with the door open because it removes more particulates.
