Tuff Tub stock tank...

Hey...my local "Tractor Supply" store has 110g Tuff Tub Stock Tanks for $55...I am thinking about picking one up to cure Live Rock...but I am concerned that it has a Brass drain plug...

Anyone think that is going to be a problem while curing LR? Not going to be using it as a sump or anything...

They also have 150g Rubbermaid stock tanks for $120...these have a plastic drain plug...Just hate to spend $65 more for the Rubbermaid...plus don't think I need a 150g tub!

brass = copper and copper is bad. But I don't know how much exposure you need in your system to cause a problem.

You can pick up garbage cans at HD to cure rock in.

The 100 gallon rubbermaids are $59... Just picked one up last week from Tractor Supply in Mansfield

Thanks B...the local one here only had the Tuff Tub 110g and the Rubbermaid 150g...looks like I will try a different Tractory Supply...

Dr.Ron had a story about a lab he was working at where an unknowing maint man put 1 small brass fitting into a huge system, and wiped the whole thing out. Its a good idea to keep anything metal other than titanium out of the water.
