Tunze 1073.040 pump noise. Wrong impeller?

I recently bought Tunze 1073.040 and it's making quite a bit of noise. Searching through these forums I found a post saying that impellers for 50 Hz pumps should be black, 60Hz - white, and that incorrect impeller can cause excessive noise.

I checked my impeller and it's white. I'm in the UK which I believe is 50 Hz. Does this mean I have an incorrect impeller on my pump?

By the way, label on the pump says 50 Hz...

I believe you have the right one, they changed the colors and 50Hz is white and 60Hz is yellow now (for about a year the color has been changed).

These are the probable causes of noise.

1) Bottom bushing is not seated in the pump, this can come loose in shipping. Remove the impeller and use a dowel or pen to seat it in its socket at the bottom of the pump, these should not come out with the impeller, their is one on each end.

2) There is hard surface contact, make sure the pump is not touching a hard surface directly and use flexible tubing to connect any hard plumbing to the pump, a short length of about 20cm would suffice.

3) Air in the pump. This tends to resolve itself in a couple days if the plumbing is not overly restrictive.

4) A damaged or out of balance impeller which would be replaced under warranty.

Thanks for the suggestions. I removed the impeller and made sure everything was sitting properly. Tried to hold the pump in hand to ensure it's not external vibration. That didn't make any difference either.

Not sure how helpful is this, but I recorded a quick video. Everything else in the sump is disabled, the only noise is from the pump. And it's definitely not touching anything.

Everything looks to be installed correctly and the noise is not normal at all. I would contact your dealer or Tunze UK about a replacement impeller under warranty. The only other things I can think of is that the locking ring which holds the cover on the impeller is loose or missing.
