Figured I would give it a try. I liked the fact that it saves a bit of power over the 1260, and it was a bit smaller. The 1260 would have fit my sump and I know it's a solid pump, but I'm trying to keep my pump wattage down to control heat as much as possible.
Will post my results and let you know how it works out once I get the tank running.
The 1073.040, it will do more like 500 but can be turned down as needed, the 1073020 will only do a max of 300 at 4ft so if you need a bit more it is better to have the greater capacity and turn it down.
Do you think the 1073.040 would have enough umph to run my Lifereef SVS2-24 skimmer? It is rated for 600gph to 1200gph and they recommend a Mag 9.5 for it.
Just like for the return pump, I'd like to cut the wattage use if possible on the skimmer pump.
